Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Moons application ("App") or website at moons.org ("Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

Moons is a platform that helps people share verified stories about causes they care about. The service includes:

  • Curated story briefs sourced from verified news and data
  • Guided video recording tools
  • AI-assisted research, scripting, and fact-checking
  • Video composition and sharing tools

3. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. You must be at least 17 years old to use Moons.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Moons Pro

Moons offers a paid subscription ("Moons Pro") that provides access to premium features. Moons Pro is available as a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription.

Free Trial

New subscribers may receive a free trial period. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial period.

Billing

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

Refunds

All purchases are processed through Apple. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create using Moons, including recordings and stories. By using the service, you grant Moons a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and display your content as necessary to provide the service.

You are responsible for ensuring your content:

  • Does not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights
  • Does not contain unlawful, harmful, or misleading material
  • Complies with applicable laws in your jurisdiction

6. Verification and Fact-Checking

Moons provides AI-assisted fact-checking and verification tools. While we strive for accuracy, these tools are aids, not guarantees. You are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of content you share. Verification badges indicate that content has been checked against available sources, not that it is infallible.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to deliberately spread misinformation
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures or access restrictions
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse free trials or other features

8. Intellectual Property

The Moons name, logo, app design, and proprietary technology are owned by Moons. Curated content from third-party sources is attributed to its original creators. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our intellectual property beyond what is necessary to use the service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. AI-generated content (research, scripts, fact-checks) may contain errors and should be reviewed before sharing.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moons shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, reputation, or revenue.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
