About

We build tools for people who
tell the truth.

Moons exists because misinformation moves faster than the institutions built to fight it. The solution is not more institutions — it is more trusted voices.

False claims spread six times faster than corrections on social media (Vosoughi, Roy & Aral, MIT, 2018). By the time a fact-checker publishes a rebuttal, the narrative is already set.

We believe the answer is real people who verify before they share, and whose communities trust them personally.

What we do

Moons tracks claims spreading across TikTok, X, Instagram, YouTube, and Reddit. We verify every claim against primary sources. Then we brief trusted voices — community leaders, teachers, organisers, nurses, students — with verified facts, source links, and a format ready to share.

The result: verified content that travels as fast as misinformation, because it is carried by real voices that real communities trust.

How it works

01

Detection

We track viral claims across five platforms using natural language processing and engagement analysis. We identify what is spreading, what hooks are driving reach, and what claims are being made.

02

Verification

Every claim is checked against primary sources: government data, academic research, news agencies, NGO reports. AI-assisted verification cross-referenced with human editorial judgement. Claims receive a confidence score and source attribution.

03

Briefing

Verified facts are structured into briefs: 3–5 bullet points, source links, and a hook. Briefs are designed to be spoken aloud — not read, but retold.

04

Amplification

Users record their take guided bullet by bullet, in their own voice. The recording is fact-checked one final time before sharing. One voice becomes ten. Ten becomes a hundred.

The team

Moons is built by a small team of engineers, researchers, and designers who believe technology should serve truth. We combine expertise in AI systems, natural language processing, mobile development, and investigative journalism.

We are based in the UK and operate independently. Not funded by or affiliated with any political party, government, or media organisation. Editorial decisions are guided by accuracy, not alignment.

Principles

  • Accuracy over speed. We verify before we brief. No exceptions.
  • Voice preservation. We arm people with facts, never put words in their mouths. The user's voice is the content.
  • Neutrality. Users decide what causes matter. The platform never editorialises or takes political positions.
  • Transparency. Every brief includes its sources. Every claim includes its confidence score.
  • Community-first. Many voices, one verified story beats one creator with a hot take.
